GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO, January 13, 2019 – CSG (NASDAQ: CSGS) and fellow participants of the Communications Business Automation Network (CBAN), a project initiated by the ITW Global Leaders’ Forum (GLF), today published a whitepaper outlining principles used to create a live distributed ledger technology (DLT)-enabled automated settlement platform. In addition, the CBAN also released reference architecture and an initial set of definitions for data-on-demand and international voice settlement that will be offered via the platform as well.
The publication release is a continuation of the work CSG and members of the CBAN started last year to accelerate the adoption of automated settlement applications and facilitate the development of open-source standards and APIs that enable service-provider interoperability of DLT/blockchain-enabled services.
This work closely aligns with other blockchain investments CSG is making including customer proof of concepts, as well as research conducted in its blockchain technology lab. Launched last year, the lab is the industry’s first of its kind and developed to solve business challenges by leveraging the wider application of blockchain; as well as explore new applications for the technology in areas including settlement, trading, routing, roaming, fraud and partner management (video).
“CSG is committed to accelerating the development of next generation services and is proud to be a part of the work to advance DLT technology in streamlining complex carrier agreement and settlement processes,” said Finn Kornbo, director of product management, CSG. “In partnership with the CBAN and the GLF, we are excited to share this publication and show how an automated and collaborative settlement platform can benefit the entire ICT service provider industry.”
The publication of the reference architecture, the business product definitions, and the whitepaper are a culmination of extensive collaboration between the members of the CBAN and the GLF, and a group of leading technology developers. Such collaboration is unique in the industry as it represents the first time many different ecosystem players have combined efforts to create an interoperable framework to support multiple business products running on multiple different DLT implementations.
